Referrals & Rebates
Do I need a referral?
Sessions can be booked without a medical referral; however, no Medicare rebates are accessible for those appointments.
What referral do I need?
The most common referral is a Mental Health Treatment Plan, written by your doctor (GP). This will then entitle you to up to 10 session rebates during a calendar year.
Other GP referrals used include Enhanced Care Plan or Chronic Disease Management Plan.
Children with a diagnosis may be entitled to Better Start or Helping Children With Autism Therapy plans, which are written by your paediatrician.
Can you do a cognitive assessment?
Cognitive assessments are available if required, from pre-school age, through school, and for adults.
Are you registered for third-part funding? NDIS? FaHCSIA? TAC? Workcover? VOCAT?
Yes – we are able to provide therapy under the Helping Children with Autism and Better Start funding programs. We are also registered for NDIS services – Improved Daily Living & Improved Relationships. Our team are able to provide Behaviour Support Plans as well as therapy services. Contact the team to discuss your specific plan details and how we can help.
Yes – referrals via TAC or Workcover claims are accepted, as well as for those engaging with Victims of Crime funding.
Can I use my private health insurance to help pay?
Depending on your level of cover, this is an option for a variety of psychology services. You will need to contact your fund to check your current details.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
If an appointment needs to be cancelled, you should call or email the team with as much notice as possible.
- No fees are charged if cancellations are made more than 48 hours before the appointment.
- A late cancellation fee of 50% applies for cancellations 24-48 hours notice.
- Less than 24 hours notice, or non-attendance for appointments incurs a full fee.
We waive cancellation fees if the appointment can be filled. Alternatively, clinicians can provide a telephone consult, letter, or email during the time of your appointment, so they can continue to support your therapeutic goals.
Cancellation fees are not eligible for Medicare, TAC, WorkCover or private health rebates. NDIS funding will cover some cancellations during each plan.
